Submission

Prospective authors are invited to submit papers electronically via the EPapers system. Paper templates and submission instructions will be available at the submission website.

Paper submissions are due by 21 November 2011 and should be no more than 6 pages in length. All papers must be approved for public release via the appropriate procedure of their employers/funding agencies prior to submittal.

Invited and contributed papers published on the 2012 IEEE Radar Conference CD must meet established IEEE standards and requirements. These apply to post-conference distribution of the Conference proceedings, including submission to IEEE Xplore. Standards and requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Papers must be presented at the conference.
IEEE reserves the right to exclude any accepted paper from distribution after the conference (including, removal from IEEE Xplore) if the accepted paper is not presented at the conference.
  2. Critical technical comments of technical reviewers and the technical program committee must be adequately reflected in the final manuscript.
  3. Papers must not include unprofessional text such as ad hominem abuse, automatically generated text, or unsubstantiated claims.

The final publication decisions for the annual IEEE Radar Conference CD, post-Conference submission to IEEE Xplore, and further distribution will be made by the Technical Program Chairs (or General Chairs).

Any regular paper requires a commitment from at least one 'qualified' coauthor to register for the conference by the submission deadline for the final paper. A coauthor is only allowed to associate his/her registration to a maximum of two manuscripts that he/she coauthored.

Otherwise, he or she is not 'qualified.' For the manuscript to appear in the final published proceedings (accessible through IEEExplore), the paper must be presented at the conference.

Tutorial Proposals

The first day of the conference Monday, May 7, 2012 and the morning of the last day of the conference, Friday, May 11, 2012 will be devoted to tutorials on specific aspects of radar. Proposals for tutorials are invited. A title, outline, and description of the tutorial and biographical sketch of the instructor are due via e-mail to Clayton Kerce and Braham Himed by 7 December 2011. More information can be found at the Tutorials page of the conference.

Student Paper Program

Student Paper Program 2012 IEEE Radar Conference is featuring a student paper program to encourage the involvement of young engineers and scientists in radar systems. The ten best papers, as judged by the Awards Committee, whose first author is a full-time student will be awarded travel grants of approximately $1000. These grants will partially cover travel expenses for the primary author to attend the conference. These grants do not cover registration cost. The student winners will present a brief summary of their paper in a special afternoon session on Monday, May 7, as well as the normal presentation during the appropriate technical session. The top 3 papers will be determined by the Awards Committee following the special session. The top three papers (including the top paper, which will be awarded the Student Paper Award) will earn cash prizes and receive special awards at the conference banquet. Student authors should notify Phil West (phil.west@gtri.gatech.edu) and Dale Blair (dale.blair@gtri.gatech.edu) of their interest in participating in the student paper contest.
